2017 Chevy Bolt EV to Arrive at Community Chevrolet in Spencer This Summer!

The limited release of the Chevy Bolt EV went on sale back in December 2016. Based upon data collected by Chevrolet, as of April 2, 2107, current Bolt EV owners have traveled approximately 4,570,300 miles, in roughly four months, from sales in the states currently offering the model. This number is significant because it has helped save over 175,000 gallons of gasoline!

2017 Chevy Bolt EV

When Chevy rolled out the 2017 Chevy Bolt EV, initially, the release was limited to select states with sufficient EV charging stations, including:

  • California
  • New York
  • Virginia
  • Oregon
  • New Jersey
  • Maryland
  • Washington
  • Massachusetts

However, as charging stations have expanded to more areas across the country, the Bolt EV will be arriving at authorized Chevrolet car dealerships in Spencer and nationwide this summer.

The Bolt EV is a true electric vehicle and does not have a gasoline engine to supplement the charging system. Even without a gasoline engine, the Bolt boasts an estimated travel range of 238 miles on a single charge! Even if your driving habits tend to push speed limits, and you like to keep the inside cooler, the vehicle still delivers an average range between 190 and 200 miles per charge.

The range does vary based on your driving habits, the type of road conditions, in-town and highway road travel, and other such factors. One current Bolt EV owner was able to travel a total of 310 miles on a single charge—but, do remember, this range is not typical for most drivers.

Although, if most of your driving is in-town, the Bolt EV can be a great compact crossover vehicle for commuting to work, running errands, or taking the kids to and from school. On average, most in-town drivers will travel around 55 miles per day—well within the total travel range the Bolt provides. In fact, current Bolt EV owners travel around 53 miles per day, which demonstrates the flexibility of the Bolt EV to serve as a daily commuter vehicle, as well as a short distance road trip vehicle.

Electric Vehicle Parking

With current incentives and federal tax credits, the cost of the Bolt EV has a price tag of around $30,000, which is affordable for a pure electric vehicle and fits well with most people’s car buying budgets. In addition, the Bolt EV is capable of supporting multiple chargers, including quick charge station ports, with an upgrade. With a 30-minute quick charge, the Bolt EV provides 90 miles of travel.

When it comes to features and options, the Bolt EV does not skimp, either. New owners will be pleased to find convenient steering wheel controls, keyless entry, touchscreen infotainment display, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, along with several advanced technology safety features, such as blind-spot alerts and lane departure alerts.
